About Us

Help youth discover God’s love through sport, play, and fitness

Every young person needs a place to belong, a place that tells them their life has great purpose and worth.

As Christians, we understand that, ultimately, they’re trying to find the kind of love and acceptance only Christ provides.

The problem is, many youth around the world live outside the reach of traditional church programs and may not feel comfortable or safe in that environment.

This leaves them longing for a connection they have yet to recognize or name. We believe the Great Commission tells believers to GO beyond the walls of the church to share the love of Christ, and young people need to be met in a place where they feel accepted and safe.

We remember how sports gave us a place to belong when we were young and challenged us to grow.

That’s why SportQuest partners with Sport Missionaries across the globe in planting and growing sport-centered ministries in communities underserved by Christian missions and services.

Since 1998, we've made disciples of Christ through sport, play, and fitness in cities and countries around the world.

Sport, play, and fitness are the tools we use to make disciples and fulfill the Great Commission through teams of indigenous leaders.

Youth around the world are searching for the kind of love and acceptance only Jesus provides.

They need a safe place to meet Him outside of traditional church programs. Sport activities create that opportunity, and we support a worldwide network of Sport Missionaries who help kids encounter the love of God through sport and play.

Values

Values express the essentials that characterize our actions and motives in everything we do. This is what makes SportQuest distinct and determines who we partner with, what is important, and how we make decisions. Ultimately, our values inspire action and shape our culture.

Calling

SportQuest is a platform for Kingdom-minded leaders to fulfill their calling.

Depth Over Breadth

We view disciple-making as a long-term, ongoing process.

Partnership

Competition is healthy in sports but not in ministry. We need to work together.

Decentralized

We offer a coach, not a boss, who provides mentoring and accountability. It’s a grass-roots movement, not a top-down hierarchy.

Indigenous

We partner with indigenous leaders to reach their context/culture. We’re not a traditional sending agency. We equip ordinary people to do extraordinary things.

Reaching the Gaps

We go where there is not already a large ministry presence with the intent of seeking the underserved, filling the gaps, and reaching the difficult or overlooked places.
